Just for interest and your thoughts if you believe there is something in this - I watched a story on the Great Wall of China and the people who are working to restore it found that the mortar contained 3% rice ( in a smooth paste form I think) and apparently it made the mortar significantly stronger and bonded better and did not deteriorate as much as sand based mortar.
Just thought it was an interesting add in and how this relates to ADN product in concrete.
