Sometimes it worries me how little idea some people seem to have despite presenting themselves as quite knowledgeable.

I would have thought that it is pretty self explanatory, that it will take more energy to pull CO2 apart than what it took to create it. Dooh! That's why we should stop burning so much fossil fuel in the first place.

Problem is though, we have done it. We have dumped so much CO2 into the air, that we now have no other choice but to very quickly come up with ways how to remove some.

Luckily, we've worked out how to make electricity from the sun. This yields us an abundance of carbon free energy. Hence, the musings of how much energy the process will use are largely irrelevant save as to costs, which in turn simply has to be below the cost of carbon, which is coming/has to come whether we, our politician or even Murdoch, like it or not!
