Off-the-shelf electric motors suitable for EVs are far cheaper and simpler and more robust than their fossil fuel counterparts, but the EV battery has proven to be a battle.

The Holy Grail of batteries is the solid state battery; known to have at least 2X higher energy density and 2X faster charging. It is strongly suspected to arrive in showrooms for the first time in the next two years and then without creating any new supply chain or manufacturing challenges than already exist.

The solid state battery will provide SIGNIFICANT impetus to the BEV Revolution. I’m all in.

Not solid on QS, however DYOR; regardless they not the only unmet promise of course. I actually do like both Toyota magnets (though the ultra small grain structure likely remains a challenge) and the Toyota solid state battery, but I think we will see multiple Tier 1 automakers in SS production. Actually my reading leads me to believe there is a real chance for Byd or BTET to be first in production. Byd has claimed they will share the IP which is admirable or perhaps a bone thrown to the CCP and SOEs.

Given the importance of SS batteries to EVs, and the fact that they are eminently more imminent than just a a couple of years ago (science and technology advances coming every-faster), and given the likelihood that all stocks connected to the EV Revolution will be goosed by such a success, it behooves the intelligent investor to be ready and aware.
