IMHO, ADN would be stupid to have bought MEP shares on market. (1) they have loads of inside information on GW & ML progress which is material to MEP, so the board would probably be prosecuted - very easy case indeed. (2) if they pay cash, they have to bid at least the highest price paid in the last four months which potentially hamstrings them - you may not think so, but what if equity markets shit themselves, but you obviously want to do the deal. So pretty much no chance.
