AstraZeneca and AZD0466

AstraZeneca have so far initiated three human clinical trials with Starpharma's drug delivery platform (DEP - drug enhanced product) and it's own toxic but killer molecule AZD4320 to a formulation AZD0466 which can now be used in a non toxic way

The first clinical trial is a study of AZD0466 in patients with advanced hematologic or solid tumours identification number NCT04214093. After 19 months 27th December 2019 - July 2021 AstraZeneca completed this trial with only 9 persons enrolled instead of the anticipated 102.

The second expanded clinical trial is a I/II study of AZD0466 monotherapy or in combination in patients with advanced haematological malignancies identification number NCT04865419. This trial began on April 26th 2021 with anticipated numbers expanded from 64 to 141. This is an ongoing global study

The third clinical trial is a A Phase I/II study of AZD0466 as monotherapy or in combination with anticancer agents in advanced non-hodgkin lymphoma identification number NCT05205161 . The study was initiated on January 25th 2022 with recruiting expected to begin on February 25th 2022. As of yet AstraZeneca has not updated it's website. However Starpharma indicated in the March quarterly update the recruiting for this trial has begun

Starpharma has also indicated that AstraZeneca has indicated recently that it intends to expand AZD0466 for further indicationss

It was not clear to me or others as to the reason for AstraZeneca early completion of it's first in human trial until the second trial began

Why it has taken 9 months to update the first trial can only be answered by AstraZeneca. Maybe it is tardiness on their side. It is up to the sponsor to keep the public informed.

The non hodgkin lymphoma trial is a classic example of the sponsor not keeping us informed. (Starpharma has updated us before AstraZeneca made it public)

So far AstraZeneca have initiated 3 trials with AZD0466 with plenty more to come
