Hey I'll shine a torch where you all refuse to look:

    1. Good investors buy low and sell high, they would have a long track record of doing this, and probably manage funds or work in some role as consultants for fundies etc. This moneymaking machine would not be pumping out investment advice for free or without strings.

    They make gains.
    They don't trade on emotion.

    2. Bad investors buy low and hold long from low to high and then to low - they do this for idealistic reasons - no one would employ such a moneylosing machine and if you followed their advice I pity you.

They make losses. They do trade on emotion.

    3. Lucky investors buy low and hold long from low to high and then to low and then back to stupidly high - i.e. from speculation through to production. They make huge gains, and they also do this for idealistic reasons - they have no real proof that their speculative investments could come good, they just *hope* they will.

They make gains. They do trade on emotion.

    Good investors are rare.
    Lucky investors are rare.
    Bad investors are the majority.

Good investors extract wealth from bad investors.
    Bad investors
    lose wealth to good investors.
Lucky investors extract wealth through luck.

Which person would you trust? Which investor do you imagine you are?

The person who long ago sold out and moved on, or the person who stubbornly holds for idealistic reasons.

Me personally - have made decent gains, and also some painful losses. I would not even be able to advice people how to break even, because sometimes that is in itself a challenge. I am a Lucky investor. I might make it big, otherwise I'll probably lose most of what I put in.

At least I can face reality. @papasmurf61 seems to also be able to state plain facts.

Don't ever take any posters word as investment advice, both this statement and those above are not intended as investment advice.
