"Taylor added that the development of a local battery manufacturing gigafactory in Townsville at this stage remains an option for Magnis, which is working with all key stakeholders to identify a way forward. The company continues to engage with other government and industry stakeholders in relation to the future development of policies focused on the development of the battery metals and battery manufacturing sector throughout Australia. While iM3TSV in Townsville is not currently active, as the most advanced lithium battery manufacturer in the country, Magnis’s vision is to be an Australian first mover to accelerate the green energy transition and global move to decarbonisation."
"Over the coming months, the company expects to have iM3NY P Series cells delivered to customers, with iM3NY poised to generate revenue in line with increased production. The CEO says production levels will be increased to 1GWh by the end of calendar year 2023, and with significant investment required to meet the planned increase in capacity to 38GWh by 2030, a number of funding partners, including potential government financing, is expected to occur.“Discussions with the US Department of Energy in relation to applications for funding to support this growth have been positive throughout FY2022, and we are confident that we are well-positioned to secure funding in FY2023."
