whether its govt policy or RBA decisions, the economy certainly is struggling. yet much of this has been seen in the GDP and immigration etc data for 12 years. and this was pre-covid.

but covid cause numerous productivity problems which resulted in the inflation that started to rise in the last year of Morrison's term. the delay in addressing inflation enabled it to become entrenched in the system. I speculate that the Govt leant on the RBA to do nothing and keep it quiet, but thats historical.

yes the Albanese mob are being cautious so as to refrain from pressuring inflation by increasing demand. but with inflation entering the RBA required range they're wanting now to alleviate cost of living pressures. this is the critical period when govt actions can reverse the trend direction.

many are using inflation as a criticism of the Labs. they're not looking at all causes and effects, only those that suit their story.

note: the immigration numbers were necessitated by the Abbott decisions on university and TAFE funding, and the mess left by incompetents such as Dud and Morrison.
