GIg, I think your previous comments were more to the point re: the cement industries pathway to lowering substancial carbon emissions (ie 8% of global emissions), by looking at better technologies to manage the excessive CO2 created when cooking limestone to produce cement in the first place.

I also agree that all industries won't jump at changing traditional methods, without the impetus and need, especially if the change comes with higher input costs. The elephant in the room though remains and net zero is not a joke and I agreed it be any of a range of SCM's and/or improved roasting technologies, the cement industries carbon footprint is big enough for it to be on the radar.

The key, as you have rightly telegraphed is can metakaolin % of binder ratio be done at a price point that supports the transition catalysed by carbon reduction tailwinds. Yes, it can be the value proposition must be right.

My view (& everyone is entitled to their own) is that HRM (metakaolin) will certainly play a role in future Australian concrete blends, as it is already doing in Europe and North American.

What is needed is a high-grade raw ore kaolin that requires nominal screening / milling and then straight into a off the shelf kiln - whoever can deliver this from the companies tabled in the heading of this thread will be a winner, I hope its at least one & will be happier if its both named, as I hold ADN & ZEO stock.
