I just looked up and found out that parliament house's heating runs on GAS 140,000GJ/year, enough to power a small town. That is why I think they are concerned about the east coast running low or out of gas, because if it does they are going to start feeling like the rest of us, very cold and we can't have that can we.
They can't bring that up so they are pretending that they doing everything they can for the public's benefit not theirs.
It doesn't bother me as long as Pep 11 is approved.
