    I'd also staying put.

It seems there are some cards being played rather early here. Always good to see what your opponent has, but don?t go too early as it'll cost you!
I don't think that the ALC and the locals realise that GR can still marine mine without Winchelsea or Connexion Islands (land holdings).

As you can extract the ore by dredging/backhoe then barge it to a mainland processing facility on the Gulf coast.

The additional costs to barge will only be a few extra $'s per ton (probably what GEMCO would use up in admin costs!).

Plus the Northern Territory Gov want to open up the western part of the Gulf and encourage mining/exploration with the likes of Western Desert.

If the ALC don't play ball with GR they will be shooting themselves in the foot for they may miss out on potential future royalties.

They think they have GR by the ?short and curly? but it could well end up the other way around, and backfire in their face (pardon the pun).

Its an extremely rich deposit (just ask GEMCO) and GR won?t walk away from this because of a green card being played.

The possibility of the NT mines department changing the tenement status is a lode of bullocks. Why do you think it took them so long to approve them in the first place? The NT gov is very pro-mining and they would not risk billions of $s of future development and investment by the mining sector by damaging their credibility.

Simple scaremongering and a desperate tactic by a misguided lobby group imo.

These activists think they are doing Groote Eylanders a favour but in fact are sabotaging their future.

Do you honestly think BHP are going to hang around and give them jobs & money when the ore runs out?

I still believe there are some heavy vested interests being played out here under the guise of the environmental card.

Any short term weakness could be a strong buying opportunity.dyor
