When a micro cap biotech like Starpharma has a partnership terminated with a major Pharma (AstraZeneca), this IMO is a major development and should have been a price sensitive announcement to the ASX first thing this morning. Not in small font on an AGM presentation slide like it’s a FYI.
So AstraZeneca has terminated three Phase One trials with Starpharma and then a year later have decided there’s nothing worth pursuing with our tech. That says a lot.

For all those still thinking that Viraleze is a wonder product and company maker, think again. Even heard the chairman today dismissing the relevance of expected Viraleze revenues from Australia and overseas by saying they are inconsequential compared to what they are trying to achieve with DEP.

When the CEO was asked about the 502(b)(2) route all we got was a non-comital word salad. I was quite surprised by this. IMO it was clearly code for NO.

The CFO was asked a straight forward Q by Stephen Mayne about how often the external auditor position has been competitively re-tendered over the last 20 years considering PWC has had the gig for all this time, and when will the next tender be? The CFO Justin Cahill gave a complete word salad answer as well straight out of a politician’s handbook. Neither question was actually answered.

All in all. Not a very satisfactory AGM in my opinion. Will be interesting to see the delayed voting on the Remuneration Report due to a major holder changing their mind at the last minute. Hope it’s voted down on Friday.

Stephen Mayne knows meeting procedure so surprised there wasn't a confrontation or further explanation requested regarding the IMO unusual adjournment?
