a huge difference

it is a little 3 hour drive....to visit....or 2.5 with a lead foot and no coppers around, or an hours flying, or 4 hours on a train...

its not the need to own....its the need to do your own thing, have the garden the way you want it....not be subjected to a landlord, who can sell up at any time, or he can decide to move back in with a months notice...and put you out on the street...
obviously we have different views as to what your own home represents...
there is an article in the age today, about how crappy some landlords are, and vice versa....its not all roses out there in renting land...

I am encouraging wild birds into my garden....I could not do that with a rental, or it would be a waste of money, expense to put in new plants and landscape the garden to suit me...
then there is the house and living....change, renovate, do whatever I like to suit me...

ps I note they say 400,000 rentals in vic...but there a 5 million residents in Melb alone...so less than 10% are renters.....thats a minority in any language...
and those going on about 40,000 houses on the market...
so less than 2% available for sale......
and they are really 'scared' of those figures....
and the bears thumb them up, cause they too are scaredy cats.....
I am sure you are trying to 'pull my legs'.....stop it!
