    Hi Specialist,

Assuming you want to daytrade - just get a decent sized desk, an ex-lease, Dell Optiplex 960, 780, 760, 755 or 745 ($50 from Gray's), a dual monitor card ($25 from ebay) and two 24" monitors (from dell ~$250 each).

The more you see the more you know. I'm using a dell 745 & 760 with 2 x 24" monitors on each. I normally have IRESS-trader open on two screens, MT4 (or IG) on another screen and one screen for browsing and working on.

You could use a laptop with a second monitor plugged in, but a desktop system is bigger and better for professional day trading.

Start the day by tiling the screens with live charts. All markets react to the SP500 futures. So first do TA on that (min, hr, day, charts) via MT4 or IG before making any decisions. Be careful when the SP500 is approaching support or resistance. Tracking the USD index (and others indexes) helps too.

    hope this helps...
