Good on him for handing it back, but if he was a really good bloke wouldn't he hand back everything he has been paid over the years? Under his stewardship AMP shareholders have lost billions. Should he have been paid anything over the years for the terrible performance AMP has put in?
Remember this is the guy who knocked back a bid of $22 for AMP without giving shareholders the chance of accepting it.
He has been paid "performance" bonuses and yet the performance of AMP has been terrible. How about paying those back and infact paying the company for failing to meet targets.
Give the executives good pay packages if they produce the goods but how about docking their pay if the performance was bad! Now theres an idea.
