having driven for uber i can tell you $5 is hogwash. ppl that use uber do so for how cheap it is compared to a cab. minimum fare in queensland is 6.00 and 4.50 of that the driver gets if he is on 75% commision, some are 80% if you signed up earlier.
in most cases $5 would represent 25-40% of the total fare. 50Cent would be good yeah but i doubt even that much. out of who's cut does the fee actually come out of when booked through thread? why even book it through thred? just use the uber app itself.
