Unfortunately it is true - in this market, especially with a liquidity/credit crisis looming large, speculative stocks are in for further pummelling as the flight for the exits intensifies.
I do feel sorry for newbies who have elected to 'tough it out' only to watch money flow into the sinkhole of despair.
The market is a stern teacher and takes no prisoners.
