I have a new question that I would like answered. Perhaps someone here @joohnno could answer it, but I’m thinking Rob Thomas as he has a huge background in this:
https://starpharma.com/board
My question is this:
Our understanding is that there is no intention for spl to become a dividend stock, and even if it did it would not be for some time. It seems that the insto holders are lending large amounts of stock to shorters who are totally controlling the share price. Even where there is a positive announcement, the rally is capped by large orders and then the sp is quickly worked back down to the price they want, often using parcels of under 100 shares and many under the 500 parcel minimum. While this provides returns for them, it is creating huge volatility and is capping share price appreciation.
What would you say to us retail holders about the merits of being invested in a stock that is so manipulated? We all love the science and the mission to improve cancer drugs and cure BV etc, but this is impossible and it seems there’s no signs of it changing.
It’s not as well worded as I’d like, but that’s what I want to know. Frankly, I look forward to the day I can get out of this at the price I want and not be subjected to this anymore.
My other big question is “what is the board’s position on whether a takeover of spl is in the best interests of the company and shareholders”
Despite these comments, I’m a bull until the US ann and the FDA ann. I give no weight to the possibility of an FDA knock back because they only have to decide if the benefits of the drug outweigh the risks, and there are no negative side effects and it’s an alternative to antibiotics which are a known problem.
