I see Esso/BHP JV gave the FID go ahead on West Barracouta development .... estimated project cost $550M ... sounds familar.
Can't find anywhere where it says how much (GJ/day or PJ/yr) it will bring online.
What I've seen is JV is targeting 2021 for first gas and it lifts XOM output from Gippsland basin by 129Bcf. Presumably same goes for BHP in a 50/50 JV .. meaning total 258 Bcf or about 272PJ as compared to Sole Gas Project ~249PJ and 24Pj/pa for about next 10 years.
Similar project scopes/cost etc .. . remind me again why LNG needs to be imported Jimmy?
Seems to me the market for gas in Eastern Australia is sorting itself out ... with Gippsland Basin producers being best bets.
