I think it's also a nice bit of confirmation for the business model that Dota 2 has weekend battle cups in all regions for Dota Plus subscribers.
In innovative team-based competitive gaming, Valve (Dota 2) are typically ahead of their competitors, Blizzard (Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft 2) and Riot Games (League of Legends).
I'd like to think theres an untapped market for fulfilling, organized, competitive gaming for gamers that presently only have access to clunky internal matchmaking.
