Every spec company I have ever been invested in that has gone bad has had people who went all in lost everything.
Too many people try to get rich in one go; investing is a marathon, not a sprint. The worst are people who are near retirement and who go all in trying to make enough money to retire. If you are young you have time to rebuild after a massive loss, but if you are 60 it is a disaster waiting to happen.
If you are only playing in the market as an alternative to betting on the nags then it is fine to go all in, but only gamble what you can afford to lose.
