I've never been interested in the why of Gap theory, just the reliability of it because is a very consistent indicator of what will likely happen at some point in the not too distant future with the SP. It doesn't always fill, but if the 92% completion rate is a reliable statistic, you can see why it is a curiosity of share market mechanics that you should use to your advantage, not just rage against. I have seen so many people on all kinds of tickers rail against the idea of a gap filling on their chart - imagining that their precious company is somehow exempt and special, only to see the inevitable happen. None of which reflects on the FA of a company at all.
But, it hasn't filled yet, so let's see what plays out.
