Agree. It can come from totally left field, and completely unexpected. Just been experiencing that with a Li miner. Thought nothing will happen there for at least the next 6 months. Tried to be smart and sold some. Now it's doubled in 6 weeks for no apparent reason.
The lesson: Don't try and outsmart the market. It will outsmart you. Buy and hold a good stock. That way you won't be caught on the sidelines when it takes off while you got your pants down.
