If today's figures are anything like that, you'd think there is money to be made, though who knows for long long the silver price will stay up for.

I agree Silver price has \ long tails and steep amplitude, historically. If they are going project finance Nimbus they will hedge portion of the production to get the finance over the line. But with high enough silver price, payback on the initial capital will quick, de-risking the project.
