Also put some effort into weeding out the lifestyle companies from your portfolio. Generally, make sure management are aligned with shareholders and have skin in the game. Just be careful of companies that keep drills turning but never really achieve anything.
In the mining space you are better focusing on companies that already have a resource and you are confident they will be able to mature the resource and develop it.
Watch out for high capex burdens relative to market cap.
Early stage exploration is very risky and generally only good for short term trading (unless you are confident in the data they have).
