In 2011 they had 76% of the resource in surface waste piles. Just 5.9Mt of resources.



So Applied Minerals resource had 13.5% by weight Iron Oxide in their 5 surface waste piles.





Not exactly a consistent resource - and for the in-pit resource they don't give any details of impurities. That's an extreme level of Iron Oxide ( above 20 to 26 times the level of Iron Oxide in ADN's resource ).

Applied Minerals then sold their surface waste piles for $4.3M in 2018.
Effectively worthless for Halloysite and Kaolin because of the very high Iron Oxide content and all the other impurities.

So that's most of their low quality kaolin and halloysite resources sold.

Great White has 0.51% Iron Oxide
Hammerhead has 0.63% Iron Oxide
Mt Hope has 0.51% Iron Oxide

also important are the brightness levels:

Great White has average brightness 83.2%
Hammerhead has average brightness 82.2%
Mt Hope has average brightness 82.2%

ADN really do have a resource with a unique combination of scale, brightness and purity (which is needed for sales into the ceramics industry, paints & coatings, notwithstanding other applications such as 4N HPA for which they have already done extensive test work).
