No, the 1 share trades are real. They were initiated by a brokers computer algorithm to move the SP down to trigger a stop loss sale.

But if you or I were to put in a sell order for 1 share Commsec for example would tell you its an unmarketable parcel and cannot be sold.

Brokers also will often place buy or sell orders a few cents above or below the current share price in order to give the impression of strong demand or a sell off. These orders will often move up and down as the share price changes or will disappear without ever being filled. These orders are obviously fake.
