You would hope that's the case.
But the shorters are a faceless group protected by the ASX and ASIC.
Back in March I submitted an FOI request to ASIC asking for the identity of the lenders and borrowers (instos) of the shares. The request was refused as it would have been a breach of confidentiality: apparently.
Looks like that info is more closely guarded that a military secret.
So much for a level playing field.
