"Who do you think our industry leading equipment manufacturer is ? (Collaboration Partner) and ;
Who was the commercial scale plant EGR used for the test?
Do you know much about Ultra Fine BAM / Super BAM?
I was wondering if this research paper was a similar product to what was announced in EGR's announcement this morning?"
Hi Spid,
I'm not sure who the industry leading equipment manufacturer is but my guess is that this testwork was conducted with Dorfner ANZAPLAN. They seem to be the go-to guys for everything graphite. They have done work for; Westwater Resources, Nouveau Monde Graphite, Black Earth Minerals, Battery Minerals, Renascor, Ceylon Graphite... the list just goes on and on.
As for the 'super' BAM products, I try not to get too excited about these novel products until I see offtake agreements being signed. No doubt there is a market for this product, but just how big is it? We all remember the big fuss that was made about expandable graphite, but as it turns out that market is very small and easily susceptible to being flooded by new entrants. In May last year we released an announcement about high purity graphite fines, and we all got excited about that, well, we haven't heard anything about that since.
The big takeaways from today's announcement for me is that we require less feedstock to produce the same amount of SpG and we no longer need to place such a large amount of fines by-product into the market. Potentially, there may even be the opportunity to slightly reduce the capex if it is deemed that we don't require the same mechanical shaping capacity as per the preliminary engineering study. You calculated that we will require 9-10ktpa less graphite feedstock to produce the targeted 20ktpa of SpG. Just think about how many fewer shipping containers have to come through the Port of Fremantle and be trucked to Kwinana, and then all that additional graphite fines by-product that we no longer have to bag and ship to international customers. Our carbon footprint to produce one tonne of SpG has just reduced significantly - this is a big deal to battery manufacturers and EV manufacturers.
