Three points:
- $30K is a lot of money for almost everyone on this planet. Many might have plenty in illiquid assets, but find it impossible to scrape up that cash.
- The MD is an employee. They get paid for their time. They don’t pay the company, the company pays them. That’s how it works.
- JM has much more at stake than $30K. He has his reputation.
