Following therecent announcement about the re-rating of the Macauley Creek project I thoughtI might have a look at the exploration that has been carried out in the regionby previous companies.
Theannouncement of 26 August 21 stated that ICG planned to carry out an AMAGRADsurvey over tenement EPM27163 in coming weeks. What I have been able toascertain is that an Airborne Magnetic and Radiometric Survey has already beenflown over parts of this region back in July 2007 as part of a 1,600 squarekilometre survey on behalf of Nextstar. The results were then interpreted bySouthern Geoscience Consultants who identified 6 different exploration targettypes in a plan. The partial plan extract below covers the majority of EPM 27163.
To make sense of the plan I had reproduced the following target types from their report along with the plan legend that explains the geology.
1. Zones of subdued magnetic response (A-01 – A-04): These zones can indicate magnetite destruction associated with alteration and potential mineralisation, non- to weakly magnetic intrusions, or shallow basement rocks.
2. Structurally interesting zones (B-01 – B-17): These are zones of structural interest and/or complexity that may represent dilational sites or sites where mineralising fluids may have potentially been focussed. These include axial faults, flexures along major structures and intersections of multiple structures.
3. Discrete zones of anomalous/elevated potassium (C-01 – C-13): High potassium and K/Th ratios can indicate secondary potassium enrichment via hydrothermal fluids and are a common vector to high rank alteration zones and potential mineralisation, gold in particular.
4. Discrete zones of anomalous uranium (D-01): Zones of anomalous uranium where potassium and thorium are not elevated may be the direct surface response of uranium mineralisation.
5. Discrete magnetic anomalies (E-01 - E-09): These anomalies may represent a buried intrusive and hence a potential source of heat and metals, or possibly deposition of magnetic minerals such as magnetite and/or pyrrhotite during hydrothermal alteration.
6. Magnetic anomalies in known mineralised area (F-01 - F-25): These anomalies represent moderate to very strong magnetic highs, some discrete, in areas of known magnetite alteration (skarns) associated with base-metal mineralisation. They may represent magnetite alteration or possibly strongly magnetic amphibolites which also occur in the area.A commentary was also provided on eachof the targets which I have reproduced. The numbers after each of the targetidentification numbers are the easting and northing co-ordinates which is thecentral point of the anomaly area.

The review of the airborne survey resultedin 5 recommended priority targets. The magnetic plan shows the location of 4 ofthose priority targets.
The targets that pertain to part of Inca’s tenement aretarget areas 2 & 3rend so what is the possibility that they connect at depth?
The consultants made the following comments in relation to those 2 targets.
Target 2 occurs south of the Mt Moss East anomaly and coincides with the sediment (Ewan beds) / Oweena granite contact. Target 2 is also a discreet, positive magnetic anomaly which is located on a north-east structure, parallel to the Mt Moss East trend.
Target 3 is interpreted to be along strike, (north-east) of Target 2 and consists of several small discreet magnetic highs in the vicinity of the sediment (Ewan beds) / Oweena granite contact.
If you refer back to Inca’s 26 August announcement you will be able to match target 3 with the Wallaroo anomaly and then match each of the other named anomalies with a magnetic high plus some other, as yet, unnamed magnetic high targets.
Similarly, theindividual Inca target areas detailed in the 26 August announcement can bematched with the different target numbers identified by Southern Geoscience. Forinstance, Wallaroo SW target looks like it coincides with F23
I would beinterested in other people’s assessment of Inca’s prospects. For instance, theconsultant’s report identified areas 2 & 3 as priority areas for drillingwhich I believe are the Wallaroo and Wallaroo SW targets. These 2 areas are along trend so what is the possibility that they connect at depth?
F17 is alsoidentified as skarn alteration and extends over a significant area. It is inproximity to the Carraway North prospect which Inca recognised as a broad, though vaguely defined, porphyry/intrusion-related target. What are our chancesof a large system on this target?
HappyFathers Day to all.
