..... and now this news out of the UK .... one would think that all of this latest information coming out of the UK would perhaps encourage the MHRA to expedite anything COVID-19 related that may offer an additional layer of protection over and above the vaccines ?

..... at least give people the choice if they want to add an antiviral nasal spray to their routines when they are out and about .... seems to be taking a long time under the circumstances for just a packaging / advertising amendment for Viraleze ?

Just because SPL has a product that may or may not work it doesn't alighn with the statistics regarding each country
Use of viraleze if it was for sale may make no difference- we just don't know.

AS for comparison of UK and AU data / stats . As for Italian data I haven't looked closely at it but again look for sites that have .
There are hundreds of small minor but incremental differences between UK and Australias response to covid and having looked at many including overall health or nations and demographic data I don't believe teh AUS - UK stats will be similar in scale . Testing - the way UK does random testing and teh fact that they have distributed so many POC tests makes the numbers real. Density of population, attitude culture and particularly going into Winter are all current factors . The shortening of 2nd dose in UK saved many but means booster is being required by wider population.

The real measure is the number hospitalised , intensive care, ventilation and deaths and a full understanding of those numbers. Effectively everyone in UK will be exposed to covid so nearly all deaths will show exposure to covid. A car accident of someone who has had covid is recioreded as a covid death .

It is sad but key to all health statistics is the increased rate of death over the averages as it shows teh actual incremental increase of death over and above the normal death rate in society.

Not downplaying COVID and its increase on deaths but just some perspective so look for some web resources that do proper comparisons na dhave normalised statistics from different nations different data collection.
