This actually presents a great opportunity for companies to promote their business through media and communications sources other than the ASX without the worry of the ASX banging on their door regarding 'continuous disclosure' obligations.
It should assist in avoiding petty circumstances which we have seen in the past where ASX issue a 'please explain' when info is released through the press and not to the ASX, afterall companies can now rely on this clause and state it didn't wish to ramp through ASX announcements.
