Always love hearing these ridiculous figures of 2m vacant houses.
I was looking for how many houses there are in Australia but haven't found it. I did find on the abs website that in 2001 there was 7.4 million households in Australia. Now for arguments sake lets just assume there are 2m vacant houses in addition to the 7.4 million that are occupied by that logic then we have (2/(7.4+2))*100% = 21% - so are you really telling me that 20% of our cities houses are vacant? I certainly don't see 20% vacant in any of the areas I frequent!
Just how many of these "vacant" homes are in dead towns, holiday towns, or just plain in the middle of nowhere!
