My understanding of the situation was the water is easy enough to pump out.

The issue the last time round was the water got contaminated with explosives and so was tricky to get out (can’t just pump it out as it would contaminate the land/water sources), I think it eventually got diluted and pumped out.

So it’s not so much the rain, but watching out for the weather and not putting explosive material when there is rain coming. Operations would have learnt their lessons from this minor hiccup. As far as hiccups go it’s insignificant in the scheme of things!
