News: PPT Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

Dec 6 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1030 GMT on Wednesday:

** France's Safran SAF.PA does not exclude a protest against Italy's decision to block part of its planned $1.8 billion purchase of the flight control systems business of Collins Aerospace RTX.N , Chief Executive Olivier Andries said.

** Japan's Rakuten Group 4755.T said it plans to sell a large stake in Rakuten Bank 5838.T to overseas investors, its latest fundraising effort as it grapples with heavy debt and losses at its mobile network unit.

** Australian fund manager Perpetual (PPT) rejected a A$3.1 billion ($2 billion) takeover offer from its largest shareholder, diversified investor Washington H Soul Pattinson (WHSP) (SOL) , saying the proposal undervalued its business.

** Chinese conglomerate Dalian Wanda's chairman and two units have agreed to sell a combined 51% stake in the controlling shareholder of Wanda Film 002739.SZ to a company linked to Tencent-invested China Ruyi Holdings 0136.HK

** U.S. private equity firm TA Associates is aiming to sell its minority stake of about 20% in Vietnamese software provider MISA, with a value for the company of more than $500 million, two sources with knowledge of the matter said.

** Harmonic Drive Systems 6324.T , a Japanese maker of speed reducers, said that Toyota Motor 7203.T will sell its entire stake in the company in the open market overseas.

** The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has sent shale oil producer Pioneer Natural Resources PXD.N and Exxon Mobil XOM.N a second request for more information on their $60 billion takeover deal, Pioneer said on Tuesday.

** Midwest law firms Ulmer & Berne and Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale are planning to merge, creating what they said in a Tuesday statement will be a "super-regional" firm with 275 lawyers.
