I would say he's had that slot booked for quite some time, probably months, and probably in anticipation that there would be some kind of funding deal to flog. That obviously hasn't happened. I'd say that he's only attending now because it would be a terrible look for the company if he bailed. Assuming there's no late announcement today, my guess is he'll just be treading water. It's only 15 minutes to fill anyway. Both CEOS of this company have been great at talking without telling you much.

The other points you make are valid enough. Hence my comment that they may still land deals and funding, even if at a high cost. It's just not a risk I'm willing to take. Good luck.
