No Chinese investor ever just "chipped in" as you eloquently down ramp the investment.
If you're bag holding from higher maybe you should see how this plays out rather than being angry with your losses.
Seriously read the language in the last announcement - GPR has been chosen for bigger things:
"Mr Chi and the Company share the collective aim of accelerating progress of the Woodlark Gold Project. In
addition to providing capital to the Company, Mr Chi will leverage his deep relationships and industry experience
to assist GPR in its goal of becoming the next major PNG gold miner."
