JD, I agree, KISS is the way to go. My system works fine for me and I enjoy the intellectual challenge of building a better mouse trap :) Adding leverage (contracts) to winning positions but initially entering with only a small position has been working very well for me. As you know I like to scalp but try and let my positions run on longer time frames if they are looking good. Adding to winning versions of this style of trade allows me to be wrong a lot and be fine in the big picture because my initial risk is quiet small compared to the occasional multi contract runner I get. I just put stop limit orders in front of my trade so if it's winning, it adds leverage as it goes. If I get stopped I just get stopped for the initial entry (usually a single contract.
Be careful of those brissy boys. All the queenslanders I know can really drink.
