Although it's not a close comparison I would want to make too much of, the weekend offer reminds me when Chinese nonferrous mining made their lowball offer for LYC in 2009 for a 51% plus stake at 36c per share. It was eventually declined by the FIRB and the rest is history the SP is close to $2 now. The funny thing is, I still rate the board of Lynas to be worse (for recommending the acceptance of the Chinese offer in 2009 and other reasons) than Bannermans board at the moment. I would be surprised if there isn't another offer before the end of the year, given the potantial importance Namibian uranium has to Indian, Chinese, French, Russian, and Japanese strategic reserves.
