Greenland Minerals & Energy, South Boulder Mines, Alkane Resources enter S&P ASX 300 Index
"The quarterly rebalance of the S&P ASX indices has highlighted the reinvigoration of the mid-sized miners in Australia.
The S&P/ASX 300 Index added 15 stocks and removed 11 (close enough), with the changes to be effective after the close of trading on Friday 16 September 2011, as a result of the September quarterly review.
The importance of being in the index is that more funds tend to invest in these companies, boosting demand for stocks in the indexes.
Entering the S&P ASX 300
Coming into the index is Greenland Minerals & Energy (ASX: GGG), with the company in a very interesting growth phase as it transforms to 100% ownership of the world's largest rare earth project."
Nice chance to be noyiced now. Obviously the slump in many ASX stocks is taking its toll so at least the resilence of GGG is a positive sign.
