Nothing wrong with making money. Again not advice just my personal experience, when I have a portfolio with risk I like to have at least one low risk (e.g. bellwether mining company). When I hold something like this that pays a dividend I use the DRP that they offer which increases my holdings in the company over time. This is what I call my retirement stock. If I held it for another 50 years for example utilizing a DRP I could sell at retirement and be quite happy.
Getting back to your example, I held DMP from $58 and sold around $100 and it kept increasing to $159. The only perfect time to sell is when it's right for you in my opinion.
