Very true Ryzie, and most of us are likely guilty of the same disconnected view.
Living in a first world country makes us "richer" than the majority of the global population. We often forget and take for granted that we don't constantly have to worry about starving to death/ dying of curable diseases. So much conflict going on in the world too, I can't even imagine what it must be like waking up every day living in fear of having myself, or my loved ones, homes/ lives ended.
