Not sure where your figures come from, but gross shorts today are just 70k, down from 364k on Feb24. At todays turnover of almost 500k, probably not significant enough to influence the share price.
Maybe buying support looks too strong or perhaps they don't like the odds of betting against the clinical trial results.
