BEJAIA, ALGERIA, Feb 12 (NNN-APS) ? Australian group Terramin Australia Ltd is expected to invest SOME 300 million usd from its own funds and through a bank loan in the zinc deposit of Oued-Amizour in Bejaia, ABOUT 260 km east of here.
This was announced here Tuesday by the company?s new General Manager, Greg Cochran, who said that according to a comprehensive study, the deposit contains inferred resources of 68.6 million tonnes with 4.6 per cent zinc content and 1.1 per cent of lead.
This new estimate compares with a previous estimate of 32 million tonnes, and thus the deposit has proven to be among the most important in the world, Cochran told a press conference.
Production at the deposit would begin by 2013, with an output of 2.0 million tonnes per year, including 250,000 tonnes of zinc and lead concentrateds.
