Can you tell me why, after Oct 7 happened, a lot of Palestinians didn't discuss among themselves the consequences of the taking of so many hostages and didn't foresee rhe terrible consequences if the hostages were not returned?

The consequences were foreseeable....shit was going to happen. But what did these hundreds of thousands of people do? At least some of them?
