As far as I understand, Toho finalise their investment into AMPL with the tranche of 60m upon securing the necessary financial backing to get the mine into production. It's been mentioned multiple times that Toho would play a major part in finding the money by way of reaching out to their network in Japan.
It makes a lot of sense for Alex to be in Japan at the moment. Hope he wasn't too phased by the Wallabies losing to Wales.
