The Genesis experience showed that finding the manganese in Mansa was (relatively) easy, satisfying the local chiefs was harder. There are plenty of mines with magnanese being excavated in Zambia, I suspect many are even done manually.
Hopefully the nearby mining has made the whole process much easier. Obviously the rapidly rising price of manganese has helped the situation greatly.
If this project fails, I believe the board will terminate Hobbs' contract in August, as per announcement last year.
