It may leave a slight clay residue on the final product but the issue is not the clay on the final
product the issue is the clay being presented to the ore sorter and it is impacting its ability to identify waste from concentrate (as explained in the Petra capital report). The heavy media separator drum doesn't discriminate, it works off SG: the sinks sink (manganese) the floats float (clay and other ore, tails). All pretty simple stuff..
