Minister Mark Butler is having an inquiry into the financial state of the private hospital system.
Maybe he's going to find that, as well as being impacted like every other business by higher costs, some of his government's own actions are bleeding them dry on revenue.
Many of them in regional areas especially have had their accreditation removed for carrying out a lot of routine surgical work, even though they are well equipped and have access to good specialists.
Not only is this dislocating the whole medical infrastructure, it's also causing a lot of inconvenience and longer waits for patients.
Skeptics might wonder if this is a nationalisation
plan by stealth.
Typical socialism. Can't wait for an election.
